Restaurant Marcel
At Marcel you dine in a former seamen's church from 1912, on the Eilandje, with the MAS around the corner. Classic French cooking, seasonal produce only, and whatever can be carved or flambéed we do at your table. The cellar holds more than 800 wine references, over fifty of them by the glass. Wine Spectator has awarded that list its Best of Award of Excellence, eight years running. Beside the restaurant we have two separate rooms, for parties of up to 48.
Au Vieux Port
Our sister restaurant in the Napelsstraat, ten minutes' walk from here. Classic French since 2007, with a Parisian touch, and the canard à la rouennaise as its signature: duck from Challans, always for two, prepared at your table. Also black-leg chicken, eel in green sauce and Dover sole at market price. Gault&Millau awards it 14.5. Open Monday to Friday, lunch and dinner.
Restaurant Maritime
Our sister restaurant on the Suikerrui, between the Cathedral and the Scheldt, where fish has been on the table since 1958. The classic preparations — Dover sole, cod Dugléré, eel in green sauce — alongside mussels, oysters and Canadian lobster, and in game season pheasant and hare. Its wine list has carried Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence three years running. Maritime is also open on Saturday lunchtime and on Sunday, when we are closed.
